Privacy Policy
Welcome to YourTests. This Privacy Policy applies to www.yourtestings.com and its subdomains (the “Site”), and to all products, services, and interactive features we control that link to this policy (together, our “Services”). It is incorporated into our Terms & Conditions.
Our tests ask personal questions, and we treat the answers accordingly. If you have any question about this policy, email us at [email protected].
If you use the Site or our Services, we take that as your agreement to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as set out here. This policy does not cover products or content offered by third parties, which are governed by their own policies.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Your first and last name and your email address.
- Your answers to any test you take, and the results and reports generated from them.
- Payment details, which are sent over an encrypted connection to our payment processor. We never store your full card number or security code.
- Anything you write to us through the contact form or by email.
We do not ask for and do not want your Social Security number, any government-issued ID number, or your financial account numbers. Please do not send them to us.
Information about your test answers
Some of our tests — including those covering attention, autistic traits, and attachment — ask about experiences that may relate to your health or wellbeing. We treat those answers as sensitive. They are used to produce your report and to keep your results available to you. We do not sell them, and we do not share them with advertisers.
Your results are also kept in your own browser’s local storage so an unfinished test can be picked back up. Clearing your browser data removes that copy.
Information collected automatically
- Your IP address and general location derived from it, such as country or region. We do not collect precise device location.
- Your device and browser type, operating system, and language.
- The pages you visit on the Site, how you arrived, and what you do while you are here.
- The date and time of your visit, used for analytics and security.
2. How we use your information
- To run the tests, score them, and produce your reports.
- To create and maintain your account and keep your results available to you.
- To take payment, manage your plan, and send you receipts and billing notices.
- To answer your questions and provide support.
- To send you service messages about your account, and marketing email you can unsubscribe from at any time.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and disputed charges.
- To understand how the Site is used so we can improve it.
- To meet our legal obligations.
3. How we share your information
We do not sell, rent, or lease your information, and we do not share your test answers or results with advertisers.
We may disclose information where we are required to:
- To comply with a valid subpoena, summons, or legal process.
- To respond to a lawful request from a government or regulatory body.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business, with appropriate confidentiality protections.
- To establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, disclosing only what is necessary.
We may also combine information into anonymous, aggregated statistics that cannot identify you, and use or share those freely.
4. Cookies and tracking
We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies — small files and tags stored by your browser — to keep you signed in, remember your progress through a test, measure how the Site is used, and understand which advertising brings people here.
You can accept or refuse cookies in your browser settings, and delete the ones already stored. Refusing them will not stop you browsing the Site, but parts of it — including staying signed in and resuming a test — will not work properly.
Where we use Google Analytics, you can read about Google’s practices at google.com/policies/privacy/partners and opt out with their browser add-on. For advertising cookies across networks, see networkadvertising.org.
5. Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no agreed standard for how a site should answer one, and we do not currently respond to them.
6. Your choices
- Marketing email. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, or write to [email protected]. You will still receive necessary messages about your account and payments.
- Your results. You can delete a result from your account at any time, and clearing your browser data removes the copy stored there.
- Your account. Email us to correct your details or close your account entirely.
7. Children
The Site is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. Card details are passed to our payment processor over an encrypted connection and are never stored on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however. If you believe your account has been compromised, tell us immediately at [email protected].
9. Keeping your information
We keep your account and results for as long as your account exists, so your reports stay available to you. We keep payment records for as long as tax and accounting rules require. When you close your account we delete or anonymize your information, except where we must keep it by law.
10. Links to other sites
The Site may link to sites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and a link does not mean we endorse them.
11. International transfers
We operate in the United States and use providers located there. If you use the Services from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection law may differ from your own. We take steps to see that appropriate safeguards are in place.
12. Your California privacy rights
This section applies to California residents and reflects the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act. You have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect about you and where it came from.
- Access the specific information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Delete information you have given us, subject to exceptions such as an active account or records we must keep.
- Limit our use of sensitive personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
- Not be treated differently for exercising any of these rights.
What we have collected in the last twelve months
- Identifiers — name, email address, IP address, account identifier. Collected from you and automatically.
- Sensitive personal information — answers to tests that touch on health or wellbeing. Collected from you. Used only to produce your report and keep your results available; never sold or shared with advertisers.
- Commercial information — the plan you bought and your payment history. Collected from you and automatically.
- Internet activity — pages viewed, how you arrived, how you used the Site. Collected automatically.
- Coarse geolocation — country or region derived from your IP address. Collected automatically. We do not collect precise location.
- Inferences — the personality, interest, and trait profiles our tests produce from your answers. This is the product itself.
We do not collect biometric information, education records, or characteristics of protected classifications. We have not sold personal information in the last twelve months, and we do not sell it today.
Making a request
Email [email protected] with “California Privacy Rights” in the subject line, including your full name, the email on your account, and confirmation that you are a California resident. We will acknowledge your request within 10 days and respond within 45 days, or tell you if we need longer. We may need to verify your identity first, and you may make this request twice in a 12-month period. An authorized agent acting for you must provide proof of your written authorization.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Changes take effect when posted here, and the date at the top of the page tells you when it last changed.
14. Contact us
